Section 106 Consultation

AECOM assists both public sector and private clients in navigating the regulatory review process established by Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966. Because federal agencies must take into account the effects of their undertakings on historic properties through a consultation process, AECOM provides guidance on the Section 106 process to parties who are the recipients of—or are applying for—federal licenses, permits, assistance, or approvals. We can help clients make informed decisions about how they can best facilitate Section 106 reviews, avoid project delays, and improve outcomes. As part of this service, AECOM offers the full spectrum of historic property identification, evaluation, effects assessment, agreement development, and mitigation services.
