Native American Consultation

We can assist clients in complying with the Native American consultation processes established under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966, the Archaeological Resources Protection Act, the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act of 1990, and similar federal and state laws.

We are familiar with, and sensitive to, the special importance of coordinating properly with Native American Tribal Government, and to ensure that the special nation-to-nation status of the consultation process is respected. Such coordination is not only performed to meet the requirements of federal laws, but can make a significant contribution towards the ultimate success of a project. We have experience in identifying which agencies and Native American tribes need to be considered for any given project, as well as the means of coordination that will provide the most effective result to make sure that project delays do not occur.
